이번 주거환경 개선사업의 대상자로 선정된 A씨는 지난해 연말 이웃주민의 제보로 양주2동 맞춤형복지팀이 가정에 방문하여 주거여건을 조사한 결과 발굴하게 되었다고 했다.

대상자의 주거여건은 전반적으로 열악하고 냉․난방에 취약한 상태였으며, 특히 난방을 위해 집안에 설치된 연탄난로의 연통이 부식돼 있어 유독성 가스로 인한 중독 사고를 방지하기 위해 즉각적인 연통 교체를 진행했었다고 말했다.

이후 대상자의 건강상태와 안부를 지속적으로 확인하고, 소파, 매트 등 생활필수 물품 등을 지원해 왔으며 안전하고 쾌적한 주거환경 조성을 위해 대상자를 양주시 무한돌봄행복센터에 의뢰, 주거환경개선 사업을 지원받을 수 있도록 도왔다고 했다.
