[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 속초시가 추석을 맞아 오는 9월 2일까지‘가격표시제 이행 실태 점검’을 실시한다고 밝혔다. 

속초시는 관내 상점가, 전통시장 내 165㎡ 미만 소매점포, 골목슈퍼, 대규모 점포 등의 명절에 필요한 공산품 및 농축수산물 대상으로 집중 점검한다.

가격표시제란 공산품(농·축·수산물 등을 포함)의 가격표시와 사업자의 부당한 행위로 지정된 권장소비자 가격 등의 표시금지에 관한 사항을 규정함으로써 소비자의 보호와 공정한 거래를 도모하고자 도입한 제도이며, 위반 시 1차 시정권고에서 5차 이상 1,000만 원까지 과태료가 부과될 수 있다.

속초시 관계자는“코로나 19로 인한 경기침체와, 물가상승 등 소상공인들의 어려운 여건을 감안하여 처벌보다는 지도·홍보에 중점을 두고  물가 안정 관리에 지속적으로 노력하겠다.”라고 밝혔다.
