[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 원강수 시장은 원주시 도시정보센터 관제실을 방문하는 것으로 임기 첫 업무를 시작했다고 밝혔다.

원 시장은 취임 당일 자정, 원주시 도시정보센터 관제실을 방문해 1,056대의 CCTV 등을 둘러보며‘안전도시 원주 만들기’를 위한 본격 행보에 나섰다고 했다.

원주시 도시정보센터는 CCTV 실시간 모니터링을 통해 각종 범죄, 사고에 신속 대응하는 업무를 맡고 있다고 전했다.

원강수 시장은“시민의 밤길이 무섭지 않도록 도시의 안전망을 구축하는 것도 원주시의 책임”이라며 “민선8기 주요 공약으로 시민 안전을 최우선으로 약속한 만큼, 공약을 더욱 잘 실행하기 위한 첫 행보로 도시정보센터를 방문했다”고 밝혔다.

이날, 원강수 시장은 관제실과 상황실 등 주요시설을 둘러본 후 당직 직원을 격려했다고 전했다.

한편, 원 시장은 취임 첫날 오전 현충탑 참배를 시작으로, 취임식과 원주시의회 개원식에 참석하는 등 곧바로 현안 일정을 소화했다고 했다.
