[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 속초시는 소통과 경청, 약속의 시정 완성을 위한 시민과의 소통형 시정 보고회인「2022년 희망속초 미래설계 보고회」를 오는 3월 22일부터 3월 24일까지 3일간 개최 예정이었으나 코로나19 확산 방지를 위해 취소하기로 결정했다고 밝혔다. 

희망속초 미래설계 보고회는 매년 김철수 속초시장이 직접 프레젠테이션을 통해 속초시정 전반을 시민에게 보고하고 동 주민으로부터 각종 생활밀착형 불편사항 및 시정 건의사항을 수렴하고 자유롭게 의견을 나누는 방식으로 진행됐으나, 최근 코로나19 확진자수의 급격한 확산으로 인한 방역강화 조치를 고려하여 최종 취소 결정을 하게 됐다고 했다.

김철수 속초시장은 “「2022년 희망속초 미래설계 보고회」를 통해 민선 7기 시민과의 약속 이행을 점검하고 ‘시민 한 사람이라도 더 행복해하는 속초’의 완성을 위하여 시민들의 소중한 말씀을 경청하고자 하였으나 코로나19 확산 방지를 위하여 고심 끝에 취소를 결정하게 되었다.”라고 밝혔다.

속초시는 비록 올해 보고회는 취소되었지만 속초시정 전반을 다양한 채널을 통하여 시민들에게 홍보할 예정이며, 항상 시민과 적극 소통하는 속초시정이 되도록 노력해 나갈 계획이라고 전했다.
