[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 양주시는 여성친화도시 제3기 서포터즈가 코로나19 확산 방지를 위해 비대면 첫 활동을 개시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 활동에서 서포터즈는 온라인 성인지 교육 수료 및 교육과 연계한 일상생활 속 성차별 언어·표현 모니터링을 실시, 65건의 성차별 언어·표현을 발굴하며 일상 속 차별과 성평등에 대해 고민하고 소통하는 시간을 가졌다고 했다.

서포터즈의 모니터링 활동을 통해 발굴된 주요 개선대상 언어로는 유모차→유아차, 저출산→저출생, 수유실→아기쉼터, 경력단절여성→고용중단여성, 미혼→미혼·비혼 등이라고 했다. 

이에 양주시는 활동 결과를 시청 전체 부서와 유관기관에 적극 홍보하며 각종 공공시설 홍보자료, 공문서 등 대체어를 사용하도록 장려할 예정이라고 했다.

한편 여성친화도시 제3기 서포터즈는 지난 4월 위촉식을 시작으로 일상생활 속 불편사항·개선사항 모니터링, 여성친화도시 조성을 위한 정책 제언 등 시정 파트너로서 역할을 수행한다고 했다.

양주시는 대면활동이 어려운 코로나19 시대에 발맞춰 서포터즈 SNS 소통창구를 마련해 모니터링에 대한 활발한 소통을 실시, 지속적으로 적극적 참여와 활동을 유도해 나갈 계획이라고 전했다.
