[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 12월 20일 홍천군 농업기술센터 철정지소 농기계임대사업장이 본격 운영을 시작했다고 밝혔다.

홍천군은 원거리 농업인의 불편 해소와 근접 영농지원을 위해 두촌면 철정리에 총 27억 6,200만원(국비 포함)의 예산을 투입해 농기계 보관창고와 교육장, 과수시범포 등을 갖춘 건축면적 1,135㎡ 규모의 농기계임대사업장을 완공했고, 이에 따라 콤바인, 퇴비살포기, 땅속작물 수확기, 굴착기 등 총 35종 92대의 임대농기계와 농업미생물 공급시설을 갖추고 철정지역 농업인들의 영농을 밀착 지원 할 수 있게 됐다고 전했다.

철정지소는 지리적인 면에서 두촌면 전지역, 내촌면 일부(물걸리)를 제외한 전 지역과 화촌면의 야시대, 성산, 주음치리의 농업인들이 이용 가능하며, 홍천군에서는 가장 큰 규모를 갖추었으며, 또 코로나19 대응 지역경제 위기 극복을 위해 2020년 4월부터 추진한 농기계 임대료 50% 감면을 내년 6월까지 연장해 추진한다고 했다.

박승영 홍천군 농업기술센터 소장은 “이번 철정지소 농기계임대사업장이 문을 열게 됨에 따라 철정지역 농업인들의 영농을 밀착 지원할 수 있게 됐다”며 “많은 관심과 이용을 부탁드린다”고 말했다.

한편 홍천군은 농가의 농기계 구입비용을 경감하고 농촌 노동력 부족 해소, 고품질 농산물생산 지원을 위해 2008년 본소, 2011년 동부지소, 2014년 서부, 2018년 남부, 2020년 내면지소 등 총 5곳의 농기계임대사업장을 개소해 운영하고 있으며, 그 결과 연간 9,858건의 농기계 임대 실적을 기록하며, 농업인들로부터 큰 호응을 얻고 있다고 전했다.
