[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 10월 14일 포천시가 이동면 연곡리의 벼베기 수확현장을 찾아 격려에 나섰다고 밝혔다. 

박윤국 포천시장은 수확기인 콤바인에 직접 탑승해 벼베기를 시연하며, 농민들의 목소리를 경청하는 등 벼 수확의 기쁨을 함께 나눴고, 이날 진행된 벼베기 면적은 0.8ha이며, 포천시 및 경기북부지역에서 가장 많이 재배하는 ‘대안’ 품종으로 출수된 지 60여 일만의 수확이라고 했다.

박윤국 시장은 “구슬땀을 흘리며 지은 한해 농사가 풍년으로 마무리되어 수확현장을 찾는 발걸음이 즐거웠다.”라며 “농민기본소득 등 다양한 정책을 마련해 부자되는 농업, 농촌을 만들도록 노력하겠다.”라고 전했다. 

한편, 포천시는 고품질 쌀 생산을 위해 토양개량제(규산)와 유기질비료, 육묘용 상토, 벼 육묘상 처리제, 벼 병해충 방제비 등을 농가에 지원하고 있다고 밝혔다.
