[장선희 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 4월 28일(수) 의정부시는 미세먼지 저감 및 여름철 폭염에 신속하게 대응할 수 있도록 2억9천4백만원을 들여 노면살수차 1대를 증차하였다. 

이에 노면살수차를 관리운행하고 있는 의정부시시설관리공단 임해명 이사장은 “의정부시, '미세먼지 관리 종합대책'과 연계하여 오는 5월부터 살수차를 확대하여 도로 미세먼지 저감에 노력하고 시민의 안전보장 및 혹서기에는 도로 복사열을 감소시켜 열섬현상 완화에도 도움이 될 것이라며 맑고 깨끗한 미세먼지 걱정 없는 의정부시를 위해 살수차 운행에 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다. 

운행계획은 살수차 3대와 노면청소차 6대를 활용하여 평상시 1일 1~2회 운영하고, 미세먼지 주의단계 및 폭염주의보 발령시 살수차 운행을 2~3회로 확대 운영 및 주말(공휴일포함)에도 운행하여 쾌적한 환경조성에 기여하겠다고 하였다고 했다. 

특히 쾌적한 도로환경에 대한 시민들의 요구가 나날이 증가하여 유동인구가 많은 의정부역 등 시민 통행이  많은 주요도로에 노면청소 및 살수작업을 늘릴 예정이라고 했다.
