[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 5월 17일 속초시 도시재생지원센터는 속초문화관광재단과 상호 간 신뢰와 우호 관계를 바탕으로 협업관계 구축 및 관내 도시재생의 발전을 위한 사업 개발·홍보를 위해 업무협약을 체결했다고 전했다.

이번 업무협약을 통해 양측은 속초시 화채마을 및 관내 지역의 도시재생 활성화를 위한 창의적인 사업을 공동 발굴하는 등 도시재생 관련 정보 제공 및 교류, 프로그램 개발·컨설팅·홍보 등에 상호 협력하기로 했으며, 특히 대포동 1지역 화채마을 도시재생 활성화 지역에 추진하고자 하는 도시재생 뉴딜사업이 활성화될 수 있도록 화채마을 주민들과 함께 다양한 도시재생 교육프로그램과 컨설팅 등 세부 지원에 관한 사항들을 협의해 나갈 예정이라고 밝혔다.

속초시는 2022년 도시재생 예비사업의 일환으로 화채마을 주민들을 대상으로 한 ‘목공예교육’, ‘수선방교육’, ‘마을관리협동조합설립 교육’이 현재 진행 중에 있으며, 이외에도 속초시 도시재생지원센터는 화채마을 주민협의체와 협력하여 사업의 시너지 효과를 높이고 주민 역량강화를 위한 다양한 교류활동을 펼칠 계획이라고 했다.
