[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 태백발전협의회는 태백시장, 태백시의회의장, (사)태백시지역현안대책위원회 위원장, 태백시번영회장이 함께한 자리에서 폐광지역에 대한 특별한 관심을 촉구하는 공동건의문을 제20대 대통령직인수위원회 및 기획재정부 등 관계기관에 발송키로 했다고 밝혔다. 

건의문에서는 동서고속도로(삼척~영월) 양방향 동시착공, 영동선 철도 이설(지중화, 복선화), 정부주도의 대체산업 유치(3,000명 이상의 신규고용효과가 있는 산업), 총리 산하의 (가칭)“폐광지역개발지원청” 설치, 산업역군 예우를 위한 폐특법의 조속한 개정, 강원랜드 사계절 복합관광레저 지구 재편시 폐광지역 시․군 균형안해, 강원랜드 관광진흥개발기금 등 국세감면을 통한 재원 폐광지역 개발사업재원으로 환원, 광해복구사업 내실화로 환경피해 최소화, 석탄공사 자산(부동산), 자치단체 기부채납 또는 매각 등을 요구하였다고 했다. 

또한 탈석탄, 탄소중립의 시대적 조류에서 폐광지역인 태백이 새로운 희망을 품을 수 있도록 윤석열 정부의 정책적 배려가 어느 때보다도 절실하다는 것을 강조했다고 전했다. 

건의문은 인수위를 비롯하여 국회, 기획재정부, 행정안전부, 법무부, 산업통상자원부, 국토교통부, 문화체육관광부, 강원도청, 강원도의회 등에 발송됐다고 했다.
