내년도 주요 국비확보 사업으로는 관광거점도시 조성사업 31억원(총사업비 1,043억원), 문화도시 조성사업 15억원(총사업비 200억원), ITS 구축사업 60억원(총사업비 100억원), 자연재해위험개선지구 정비사업 등 19억원(총사업비 242억원), 풍수해생활권 종합정비사업 12억원(총사업비 497억원), 어촌뉴딜300 58억원(총사업비 229억원), 도시재생사업 26억원(총사업비 474억원), 스마트시티 챌린지 사업 50억원(총사업비 215억원), 화폐전시관 건립 30억원(총사업비 100억원), 포남2처리분구 등 하수관로 정비사업 43억원(총사업비 917억원) 등을 비롯하여 국책사업인 강릉~제진 철도건설 1,058억원(총사업비 27,406억원)이 확보됐다고 했다.

특히 정부예산안에 미반영 되었던 소방심신수련원 신축(총사업비 470억원)과 지식산업센터 건립(총사업비 250억원)사업이 확보되어, 내년도에는 기본계획 및 타당성 용역비로 각각 2억원, 10억원이 신규반영 됐으며, 증액사업으로는 안인화력발전기금 30억원(총사업비 1,064억원), 세계합창대회 13.9억원(총사업비 152.7억원), 폐기물처리소각시설 설치사업 10억원(총사업비 676억원)이 증액됐다고 했다.

이번 국회증액사업으로 인해 남부권노인종합복지관 건립이 차질없이 이루어지고 북부권에는 소방심신수련원이 들어서게 됨으로써 경제활성화는 물론 지역의 균형발전을 이룰 수 있는 토대를 마련했다고 했다.

또한 지식산업센터 건립사업은 이미 분양이 완료된 과학산업단지의 추가 확장계획과 맞물려 우수기업 유치와 일자리 창출에 더 큰 시너지 효과를 발휘할 것으로 보인다고 했다.
