[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 17일 오후 2시 강릉시는 강원양돈농협, 이마트, 홈플러스와 “스마트도서관 개관 및 운영을 위한 업무협약(MOU)”을 맺고, 무인 도서 대출반납 자동화 시스템인「스마트도서관」을 3월 안으로 설치한다고 밝혔다.

이번에 설치될 스마트도서관은 시민들이 많이 이용하는 하나로마트(교동, 성덕점), 이마트, 홈플러스에 설치되어 복합문화공간으로써의 역할을 수행할 예정이며, 시민들의 도서대출 이용 편의를 위한 생활밀착형 무인 자동화 시스템으로 구축하여, 그동안 심리적･물리적 여건으로 도서관 이용이 어려운 시민들에게 많은 편의를 제공할 것으로 예상된다고 했다.

스마트도서관은 단순한 도서대출 기능을 넘어 쇼핑과 문화의 복합 상승효과로 책문화 활성화에 크게 기여할 것으로 기대된다고 전했다.

업무협약에 참석한 관계자들은“시민들이 많은 찾는 쇼핑몰에 스마트도서관이 구축되면 적극적인 홍보와 안내를 통해 독서문화 확대에 노력하겠다”고 소감을 밝혔다.
