[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 3월 14일부터, 동두천시보건소는 사람유두종바이러스(HPV) 예방접종 무료 지원 대상자를 확대한다고 밝혔다.

사람유두종바이러스는 자궁경부암, 항문암, 생식기암 등이 주요 원인이며, 특히 자궁경부암은 15~34세 여성에게 발생하는 암 가운데 세 번째로 높은 발생률을 보이며, 사람유두종바이러스 예방접종은 암을 예방할 수 있는 유일한 백신이기 때문에 반드시 접종이 필요하다고 했다.

접종 지원 대상자로는 만 12세(2009년 1월 1일~2010년 12월 31일 출생자) 여성뿐만 아니라 만 13세~만 17세(2004년 1월 1일~2008년 12월 31일 출생자)와 만 18세~26세(1995년 1월 1일~2003년 12월 31일) 저소득층 여성까지 포함되고, 예방접종 지원 마지막 연령(2004년생 및 1995년생 저소득층)의 경우 1차 접종을 2022년에 완료시 1차 접종일로부터 12개월 하루 전까지만 2, 3차 접종 지원이 가능하다고 했다.

지원 백신은 HPV 2가 및 4가이며 접종 가능한 병·의원은‘예방접종도우미’사이트에서 확인할 수 있으며, 기타 예방접종 문의사항은 동두천시보건소 예방접종실로 문의하면 된다고 전했다.
