[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 산림청 한국산림복지진흥원 소속기관인 국립횡성숲체원은 지속가능 미래교육 및 탄소중립 실현을 위한 청소년 대상 ‘숲 보내드림(林)’ 비대면 산림복지서비스를 제공한다고 밝혔다. 

이번 사업은 국립횡성숲체원과 산림조합중앙회 중부목재유통센터, 강원철원지역자활센터가 함께 협력하여 시행하는 산림·환경 교육 목적의 비대면 사업이며, 주요 탄소흡수원인 국산목재를 활용해 일상 속 목재사용을 증진하고, 커피찌꺼기 업사이클링 화분을 만들어 탄소발자국 줄이기에 동참하며 청소년에게 탄소중립에 대한 인식을 제고하기 위해 기획됐다고 했다. 

이번에 제공되는 비대면 키트는 총 3가지이며, 산림조합중앙회 중부목재유통센터와 공동 개발한 빛의 목수(우드무드등)와 포레스트러쉬(도토리 칼림바)는 탄소중립 기반 진로체험 키트로 탄소동화작용과 목재 산업에 대해 배우고 나만의 목공 제품을 만들 수 있도록 구성됐고, 또한 강원철원지역자활센터와 함께하는 에코리더 프로젝트(커피박 화분만들기)는 친환경 커피박 화분을 통해 꿀벌의 중요성과 자원 순환에 대해 이해하며 씨앗을 키워볼 수 있는 기회를 제공한다고 전했다.

이번 비대면 프로그램은 전국 초·중등 기관 및 학교 단체(20명 이상)대상으로 운영되며, 비대면 키트와 동영상이 함께 제공되어 진로·환경 교육의 공백을 최소화하고 학사운영의 탄력적 운영이 가능하게 한다는 점이 장점이고, 더불어 국립횡성숲체원에서는 산림진로와 탄소중립을 위한 환경교육을 대면·방문형으로도 운영하고 있으며, 참가신청은 국립횡성숲체원 누리집 공지사항의 참가신청서를 작성하여 이메일 접수하면 된다고 했다.

국립횡성숲체원 홍성현 원장은 “‘국립횡성숲체원의 ‘숲 보내드림(林)’ 비대면 산림복지서비스를 통해 미래 환경의 주역인 청소년들이 탄소중립에 대한 개념과 중요성을 인식하게 되는 계기가 되길 바란다”며, “탄소중립 인식 확산을 위한 산림복지프로그램을 적극 추진하여 ESG경영을 실현해나갈 것”이라고 말했다.
