[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 산림청 한국산림복지진흥원 소속기관인 국립횡성숲체원은 횡성군종합사회복지관과 함께 소외이웃을 위한 ‘쌀나눔 사회공헌활동’을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번활동은 공공기관으로서 사회적 책임을 실현하고, 횡성 지역민의 삶의 질 향상과 행복 추구에 이바지하기 위해 마련됐고, 이번 사회공헌활동은 국립횡성숲체원과 횡성군종합사회복지관 임직원 10여명이 모여 진행했으며, 3인 1개조로 편성하여 관내 가정 곳곳을 찾아 쌀을 전달했다고 전했다.

한편, 국립횡성숲체원 사회공헌단은 매년 도움이 필요한 지역민들을 대상으로 농촌 일손돕기, 환경개선활동, 기부활동 등을 이어오고 있다고 했다.

국립횡성숲체원 홍성현 원장은 “코로나19로 어려움이 지속되는 가운데 지역민에게 따뜻한 마음을 전하고자 이번 사회공헌활동을 진행했다”면서 “앞으로도 지역의 어려운 이웃들을 위한 다양한 활동을 지속할 것”이라고 말했다.
