[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 21일, 화천군 군납협의회 농업인 약 40여 명은 세종시 정부종합청사 인근에서 열리는 전국 군납농가 연대집회에 참여키로 했다고 밝혔다. 

이날 집회에는 전국 30여 개 군납조합 농업인들이 참여해 군(軍) 급식제도 철회를 공동으로 요구할 예정이고, 농가들은 농림축산식품부 앞에서 집결 후 국무조정실 앞까지 가두행진을 한 뒤, 오후 1시부터 3시까지 항의집회를 진행하고, 건의문 등도 전달할 것으로 알려졌다고 전했다. 

이에 앞서 군 급식 제도개선 관련 주민 간담회가 지난 19일, 화천군 농업기술센터에서 한기호 국회의원을 비롯해 국방부와 농림축산식품부, 강원도, 화천군, 군납농협, 농업인들이 참석한 가운데 열렸다고 했다. 

이날 한기호 국회의원은 “접경지역지원 특별법은 군부대가 지역 농산물을 납품하기 위해 노력해야 한다고 명시하고 있다”며 “군납농가와 접경지역 지자체, 농협 역시 군납 농산물 전처리 시설까지 만들며 급식 질 개선을 위해 많은 노력을 기울여온 만큼, 국방부도 현장의 목소리를 들어보고, 개선점을 고려해야 한다”고 했다고 말했다. 

최문순 화천군수도 이날 간담회에서 “접경지역 주민들은 국가안보를 이유로 오랜 세월 포사격 소음, 군사훈련, 군사규제 등으로 인한 피해를 감수하며 살아왔다”며 “달래줘도 모자를 상황인데, 국방개혁으로 인한 부대해체, 군납 경쟁입찰까지 한번에 강행하니 반발이 큰 것”이라고 했으며, 이어 “군납이 경쟁입찰로 변경되면, 농산물 수집자, 유통자 등 각종 유통단계가 늘어나 단가는 올라가고, 신선도는 떨어질 것”이라며 “이렇게 되면 국가안보의 근본인 군 급식에도 문제가 생길 우려가 크다”고 지적했다고 말했다. 

화천군은 연간 206억원 규모의 농축산물을 군부대에 납품하는 도내 최대 군납 농산물 생산지라고 했다.
