동두천시는 지난 2월 GTX-C노선 동두천 연장 타당성 용역에 착수하였으며 자체 타당성 용역에서 경제성(B/C) 1.73과 수익성(PI) 1.70으로 충분한 사업성을 확보한 만큼 동두천 연장에 필요한 사업비 약 530억 원을 시에서 전액 부담하는 조건으로 ‘GTX-C 동두천 연장’이 조기에 확정될 수 있도록 국토교통부 및 현대건설 컨소시엄과 지속적으로 협상해 나가겠다고 밝혔다.
