이번 설문조사는 공연‧시민 만족도 향상 및 변화하는 시민의 문화예술 욕구를 파악하고 공연 호응도를 이끌어 내기 위해 추진된다고 전했다.

조사방법은 인터넷 조사, 서면조사 등으로 진행되고, 인터넷 조사는 태백시청 홈페이지(소통참여>설문조사), 새올 행정시스템으로 이뤄진다고 했다.

서면조사는 태백 문화예술회관, 시청 민원실, 동 행정복지센터에 비치된 설문지를 통해 할 수 있으며, 조사항목은 관람 선호 요일, 선호 공연 시간대, 공연 비용, 관심 공연 분야, 문화예술회관에 바라는 사항 등 총 13개 항목이라고 했다.
