[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 10월 30일 포천동행정복지센터는 대한적십자 포천동 은행나무 봉사회와 함께 저소득 장애인가구의 주거환경개선사업을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

대상자는 지적장애가 있는 자녀와 함께 단둘이 살고 있는 가구로, 오랫동안 쓰레기가 누적돼 스스로 해결할 수 없는 상황에 어려움을 겪고 있었다고 했다.

이날 주거환경개선사업은 자원봉사자 10명이 참여해 집안 곳곳 묵은 때를 벗겨내는 등 한층 깨끗한 환경에서 편안하고 쾌적하게 생활할 수 있도록 대청소를 실시했다고 전했다. 

포천동 관계자는 “많은 사람의 관심과 참여로 어르신의 주거지가 더 쾌적하고 안전해졌다.”라며 “앞으로도 복지사각지대에 놓인 주민을 적극 발굴하여 안정적인 삶을 영유할 수 있도록 돕겠다.”라고 말했다.
