[서종협 기자 = 태백시] 태백시(시장 이상호)는 저소득 취약계층과 복지시설 등 대상으로 노후 등기구를 LED 조명으로 교체하는 에너지 복지사업을 지원한다고 밝혔다.

취약계층 LED등 교체 사업은 2014년부터 저소득층, 복지시설을 대상으로 그동안 880개소, 13억 4800만원을 지원했으며, 올해 상반기에는 총 21개소(저소득층 20, 복지시설 1), 사업비 5,080만원을 지원했다.

올해 하반기에는 사업비 6,900만원을 투입, 31개소(저소득층 30, 복지시설 1)를 대상으로 일반 등기구를 전량 LED 조명 기구로 교체해 에너지 고효율화를 추진할 계획이다.

시는 이번 사업 추진에 따라 전력효율 향상과 수명개선을 통해 전기 요금 절약 및 에너지 절감 효과가 클 것으로 기대하고 있다.

시 관계자는 “앞으로도 다양한 에너지 복지사업을 지속적으로 추진해 에너지 취약계층이 충분한 에너지 혜택을 누릴 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
