[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 우천면지역사회보장협의체는 기름보일러를 사용하는 관내 저소득 취약계층 30가구에 600만원 상당의 난방유를 지원하였다고 밝혔다.  

이번 사업은 협의체 지역특화사업의 일환으로 매년 저소득층에 대한 연탄 지원 사업은 다양하게 펼쳐지고 있지만 난방유 지원사업은 부족함에 따라, 겨울철 한파에 대비해 기름보일러를 사용하는 저소득 복지대상자들에 대한 보호 대책을 강구하고자 추진되었다고 했다.

사업 추진을 위해 우천면지역사회보장협의체에서는 지난 12월부터 지역주민들과 함께 성금모금 활동을 펼쳤으며, 우천면에 거주하는 개인, 단체 등의 십시일반 모은 후원금으로 추진되어 더욱 뜻깊다고 전했다. 

한편, 우천면지역사회보장협의체는 지난 2019년 5월부터 우천사랑애 기금조성 협약을 맺어 우천면 소외계층을 위한 우천면 자체 나눔문화 확산 사업을 진행하고 있으며, 협의체 위원들(외로움공감단 베프)은 1월 24일부터 오는 1월 28일까지 난방유 지원 대상 가구를 직접 방문하여 겨울나기에 대비할 수 있도록 난방유상품권을 전달하고 안부를 살필 예정이라고 했다.  

이종관 위원장은 “이번 사업을 통해 저소득층에 대한 지역 내 관심과 나눔문화가 더욱 확산되길 기대한다. 앞으로도 저소득층은 물론 복지 사각지대 가구 등 지역의 어려운 이웃들에게 실질적인 도움을 줄 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다.”고 전했다. 

이해연 우천면장은“동절기 난방유를 사용하는 저소득 가구는 지원 대상에서 소외되는 경우가 많은데 이번 사업을 통해 정말 필요한 부분을 지원해 주셔서 더욱 의미가 크다. 관내 어려운 가구에 대한 지원에 노력을 아끼지 않겠다.”고 전했다.
