[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 강원인재육성평생교육진흥원의 장학생으로 육성된 미래인재들이 2022년 베이징동계올림픽에 출전하여 활약하고 있다고 전했다. 

미래인재 출신으로 이번 올림픽에 참가한 선수는, 스노보드의 이상호(2015년 선발), 노르딕복합에 박제언(2007년 선발), 크로스컨트리 스키에 김민우(2012년 선발)이라고 했다.

이상호 선수는 2018 평창동계올림픽에서 은메달을 차지하며 우리나라 올리픽 사상 설상종목에서 첫 메달을 선사했고, 이번 올림픽에서는 0.01초 차이로 통한의 좌절을 맛봤지만, 유일하게 결승에 진출한 아시아인이자 예선에서 30초 대 기록을 세운 선수라고 전했다.

박제언 선수는 대한민국의 단 한 명뿐인 노르딕복합 국가대표로 이 종목의 선구자로 불리며, 불모지인 한국에서 올림픽에 2회 연속 출전하는 역사를 썼다고 전했다.

크로스컨트리 스키의 김민우 선수는 첫 동계올림픽 출전으로, 설원 위의 마라톤이라고 불리는 크로스컨트리에서 한계에 도전하며 19일 경기까지 불굴을 투지를 보여줄 예정이라고 전했다. 

손인주 원장은 "설상종목에서 희망을 선사한 이상호 선수, 유일한 국가대표로 새로운 길을 개척하고 있는 박제언 선수, 첫 올림픽에서 불굴의 도전을 보여준 김민우 선수의 값진 도전은 모두에게 감동과 희망을 주었다며, 도민들의 성원을 발판삼아 후회 없는 경기를 하고 돌아오길 바란다"고 전했다. 

또한 "훌륭하게 성장한 미래인재들이 자랑스럽다며 앞으로도 강원도와 대한민국을 빛내는 역량 있는 인재들을 선발하고 육성하는 일에 더욱 힘쓰겠다"고 전했다.

한편, 강원인재육성평생교육진흥원에서 추진하는 강원도 미래인재육성사업은 자연과학, 인문사회, 문화예술, 체육, 특성화 분야 인재를 조기에 발굴하여 글로벌 인재로 육성하는 사업으로, 사격의 진종오, 대관령국제음악제 손열음 감독 등 다수의 인재를 배출해 온 강원도 대표 장학사업이며,  올해는 4개분야 13명을 신규 선발해 지원할 예정이라고 했다.
