[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 서태원 가평군수는 지난 23일 경기도지체장애인협회 가평군지회와 오찬 간담회를 진행하며 회원들과 소통하는 시간을 가졌다고 전했다.

이번 간담회는 서태원 가평군수 취임 이후 처음 만나는 자리로 김영수 지회장을 비롯한 회원 20여명이 참석해 민선8기 출범을 축하하며 장애인을 위한 군정운영에 도움이 될 수 있는 다양한 의견들을 전달했다.

이날 간담회에서는 ‘민선8기 공약사업인 보조기기 수리센터 운영’, 오는 9월 14일 실시하는 경기도지체장애인체육대회 개최, 고령장애인 쉼터 설치 등 현안을 논의하고 다양한 의견을 제시했다.

서태원 군수는 “오늘 말씀해 주신 다양한 의견들을 세심히 살펴 가평군 장애인을 위한 현실적인 지원 방안을 강구할 수 있도록 노력하겠다” 면서 “군정에도 적극적인 참여을 부탁드리며 장애인이 차별 없이 사는 하나되는 가평특별군을 만들기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

이에 김영수 지회장은 “직접 간담회를 찾아와 회원의 목소리를 경청해 주셔서 감사드린다”며 “앞으로 지체장애인협회를 비롯한 여러 장애인단체·기관들과 적극적으로 소통해 가평군 장애인의 권익 및 삶의 질 향상을 위해 앞장서달라’고 답했다.

한편 지체장애인협회 가평군지회는 현재 중증장애인이동편의차량 운영, 보조기기 수리업체 운영 등 가평군 장애인복지증진을 위해 다양한 사업을 운영하고 있다.
