[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 태백시와 태백운전면허시험장은 지난 7월 28일부터 전국 어디서나 발급 가능한 ‘모바일 운전면허증’에 대해 적극 홍보에 나섰다고 밝혔다.

모바일 운전면허증은 관계 법령에 따라 개인 스마트폰에 발급받을 수 있는 운전면허증으로, 운전면허증 소지자와 신규 운전면허 취득자가 신청할 수 있다. 

모바일 운전면허증은 신분증을 제시해야 할 때 상대방에게 개인정보를 선택적으로 제공할 수 있어 개인정보 보호가 용이하다는 장점이 있다. 

또한, 블록체인 등 다양한 보안 기술을 적용함에 따라 온라인에서도 안전하게 사용할 수 있으며 신원증명과 면허자격 확인도 가능하고, 모바일 운전면허증은 전국 운전면허시험장과 경철서에서 발급 신청이 가능하며 재발급 시에는 비대면 발급이 가능하다.
