[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 원강수 원주시장은 지난 5일 원주시청 1층 로비에서 개최된 ‘디지털체험존 시연회’에 참석했다.

디지털체험존 사업은 강원도 디지털배움터 사업의 일환으로 중장년층 등 디지털 취약계층의 정보 격차 해소를 위해 키오스크 교육 및 체험뿐만 아니라 3D펜·코딩탑재 기기·인공지능 로봇·VR 기기 등을 무료 체험하는 사업이며, 오는 10월 30일까지 관내 4개소를 순회 운영한다.

7월 원주시청을 시작으로 8월 밥상공동체 종합사회복지관, 9월부터 10월까지는 노인종합복지관 및 문막분관을 순회하고, 오전 9시 30분부터 오후 4시 30분까지 운영하며, 체험을 희망하는 시민은 별도 예약 없이 방문하면 서포터즈의 도움을 받아 체험할 수 있다.

원강수 원주시장은“코로나19로 인해 비대면 문화가 확산하면서 디지털기기 사용이 서툴러 불편함을 느껴왔던 취약 계층에게 큰 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다”며 “이번 시연회를 통해 정보 취약계층이 겪는 생활 속 불편함을 해소할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
