[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 14일 양양군과 한국관광공사는 ‘2022년 스마트관광도시 조성사업’의 성공적인 추진을 위해 상호 업무협약을 체결하고, 본격적인 사업 조성에 들어간다고 전했다. 

군은 지난 3월 문화체육관광부와 한국관광공사가 주관한 ‘2022년 스마트관광도시 조성사업’공모사업에 최종 선정됐고 이후 세부사업계획에 대한 전문가 자문, 컨소시엄 협의 등 보완을 거쳤으며, 지난 5월말 한국관광공사에 제출한 최종사업계획이 승인됨에 따라 이번 업무협약을 체결하게 됐다고 했다. 

군은 이번 사업을 통해 ‘내 손안의 파도, 스마트한 여행 스마트 서프시티 양양’을 구현하여 국내 서핑관광을 리드하는 선도 도시를 목표로, 오는 2023년 3월까지 총사업비 70억 원을 투입하여 사업을 추진한다고 밝혔다.  

주요 사업으로는 서핑 이용객과 서핑 갤러리 모두를 위한 스마트 서핑 플랫폼 구축, 일과 휴양을 동시에 즐기는 워케이션을 양양군 관광트렌드로 자리 잡기 위한 서핑 워케이션 센터 조성 등이 있다고 했다. 

그 외에도 AR게임과 AR포토존 조성, 실시간 파도웹캠 서비스, 서핑해변 조형물과 사이니지 설치, 각종 관광 상품 예약결제 등 다양한 사업을 추진할 계획이며, 관광객들이 모든 요소들을 편리하게 이용할 수 있도록 모바일 앱에 담을 계획이라고 전했다. 

손옥숙 관광과장은 “관광과 ICT기술을 융·복합하는 스마트 관광도시 조성사업은 그간의 오프라인 관광 불편을 해소하고, 디지털 관광으로 전환할 수 있는 절호의 기회인만큼, 지역주민과 관광객 모두가 폭넓은 혜택과 편리함을 누릴 수 있는 통합 관광 플랫폼으로 구축하도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
