[서종협 기자 = 태백시] 태백시(시장 이상호)는 15일 오후 2시 ㈜STX(서울 중구)와 ‘태백시 경제활성화 프로젝트’ 추진을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다.

이번 업무협약은 이상호 태백시장과 박상준 ㈜STX, STX마린서비스(주) 대표이사, 송찬근 STX에어로서비스(주) 대표이사와 주요 관계자가 참석한 가운데 진행되었다.

(주)STX는 원자재&에너지 트레이딩, 물류, 해운서비스, 플랜트 엔지니어링, Total 선박관리 등 최상의 가치를 창출해내는 솔루션 파트너 역할을 수행하는 기업이다. 

이번 협약에는 ▲첨단 산업용 핵심원료 생산 산업 유치 ▲ 산림자원을 활용한 산림클러스터 조성 ▲ 리사이클링 재제조 산업클러스터 조성 ▲ 한국항공고등학교(예정)와의 산학 협력 사업 등이 포함되었다.

이상호 태백시장은 “적극적인 사업추진으로 지역경제 활성화는 물론 교육 기반도 탄탄히 조성하여 작지만 강한 도시가 될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
