[장선희 기자 = 경기북부]  지난 4월 12일 의정부시 안병용시장은 의정부브레이킹협회와 의정부시 대표 비보이단 육성을 위한 업무 협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

 
의정부브레이킹협회는 전문적인 브레이킹 인재 육성을 위해 지난해 설립되었으며 17명의 회원 전원이 의정부에 거주하고 있으며, 협회 소속 비보이 회원들은 세계 국제대회에서 30회 이상 수상한 실력을 겸비하고 있다고 했다.

의정부시와 의정부브레이킹협회는 2024년 파리올림픽 정식종목으로 채택된 브레이킹 국가대표 배출을 위해 공동 노력하기로 하고 3개년 2021년~2023년간 협력하기로 했다고 말했다.
