[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 더불어민주당 경기도당 공천관리위원회는 지난 4월 20일 회의를 개최해 가평.포천.의정부 기초단체장 후보를 일부 확정했다고 밝혔다.

1차 통과한 가평군수 예비후보로 김경호 경기도의원, 송기욱 가평군의원, 이상현 가평군의원 등 3명이다. 이들 3명은 경선을 통해 1명을 가평군수 후보로 선정 할 예정이다. 가평군은 보수가 강한 지역으로서 민주당 후보들이 열세에 있는 것은 사실이다. 하지만, 이번 가평군수 출마에 무소속 출마자들이 많아 변수가 될수도 있다는 전망이 나오고 있어 민주당 후보들의 당선 가능성을 배제하지 못하는 형국이 됐다.

경기도당에서의 가평군수 후보선별에 대한 검증을 잘하면 가평군에도 민주당 깃발이 꽃아질수 있다는 희망이 보인다는 점에서 경기도당 공심위의 결정이 주목되는 부분이다.

포천시장 예비후보는 박윤국 현 시장이 단수 공천을 받았고, 의정부시 예비후보는 장수봉 전 의정부시의회 부의장, 권재형 전 경기도의원, 김원기 전 경기도의회 부의장 등 3명이다.
