[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 9일 태백시 철암동지역사회보장협의체 회원들과 동 직원들 11명은 노후화된 철암 삼방동 전망대 주변 데크 도색작업 및 환경정화 활동을 실시했다고 전했다.

이번 행사는 최근 날씨가 따뜻해짐에 따라 주말에 철암을 찾는 관광객들이 늘어날 것으로 예상되어 맑고 깨끗한 도시 이미지를 심어주기 위해 협의체 회원과 철암동사무소 직원들의 자발적인 참여로 추진됐다고 했다.

전명섭 위원장은 “주민들과 관광객들이 많이 찾는 철암 삼방동 전망대 주변이 깨끗해져 마음도 맑아지는 것 같다.”며 “앞으로도 지속적으로 환경정비활동을 추진하겠다.”고 말했다.

강명주 철암동장은 “코로나 19 감염 확산으로 어려운 시기에 쾌적한 철암동 만들기에 앞장서 행사에 동참에 주신 철암동협의체 회원들과 직원들에게 감사드린다.”며 “이번 행사로 인해 우리동네는 우리 스스로 만들어 간다는 마음으로 지역내 많은 자생단체과 함께 할 수 있는 원동력이 됐다.”고 말했다.
