[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 양양군이 관내 고등학생을 대상으로 지역자원과 연계한 ‘청소년 생태교육’ 프로그램 운영 지원에 나선다고 밝혔다.

이번 생태교육은 청소년의 지역생태 탐구 활동과 진로를 위한 적성탐색의 기회를 제공하고, 환경 감수성과 애향심 증진을 위해 마련됐고, 프로그램에 참여하는 학생들은 올해 12월까지 양양군의 주요 하천, 산, 들판 등의 자연을 답사해 보고 생태지도와 환경기획물을 만드는 활동 등을 하게 된다고 했다. 

생태교육 프로그램은 '현남면 매호 석호 답사 및 생태교육', '남대천 생물도감 제작', '생태계 교란종 제거 활동', '생태지도 제작․발표', '숲길 트레킹', '지역개발 환경 패널 토의' 등 다양한 주제를 담은 총 16강의 교육 프로그램으로 구성·운영된다고 전했다.

이를 통해 군은 청소년들에게 지역의 환경과 생태에 대한 탐구활동 기회 제공과 진로를 위한 적성 탐색의 기회를 제공함은 물론, 지속가능한 사회 구현에 필요한 창의성, 문제해결 능력, 공동체 의식 등을 키워나갈 계획이며, 또한 청소년들과 함께하는 체험과 실천 중심의 교육 프로그램 운영으로 환경 패러다임 변화를 선도하는 공감과 소통의 장을 마련하여 지역 환경과 관련된 긍정적 변화를 체감 할 수 있는 있는 기회를 제공할 것으로 기대한다고 밝혔다.
