[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 3월 8일 오전, 가평소방서는 지난 2월 5일 가평군 상동면 음식점 화재 현장에서 용감한 행동으로 재산피해 경감에 크게 기여한 시민에게 감사의 마음을 담아 소방서장 표창을 수여했다고 밝혔다.

표창을 받은 전선구씨는 지난 2월 5일 오전 가평군 상면 상동리 식당에서 발생한 화재현장을 목격하게 됐고, 현장으로 달려가 인명이 대피한 것을 확인하고 안도하는 것도 잠시, 주위를 둘러보던 중 옥외에 설치된 LPG가스통을 발견한 전씨는 큰화재로 이어질 수 있음을 직감하고 가스통 5기를 직접 해체하여 안전한 곳으로 옮겼다고 했다. 

안타깝게도 화재건물은 화재로 붕괴되었지만 만약 전선구씨가 LPG 가스통을 직접 해체하지 않았다면 인근 음식점까지 다량의 가스로 인한 연소확대로 막대한 재산피해가 발생했을 것이라고 전했다.
