[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 21일 속초시는 지역서점 5개소(동아서점, 문우당서림, 열린문고, 완벽한 날들, 칠성조선소 북살롱)와‘희망도서 바로대출 서비스’업무협약을 체결하고 오는 3월 2일 부터 운영에 들어간다고 밝혔다.

‘희망도서 바로대출 서비스’는 시민이 읽고 싶은 책을 도서관까지 가지 않고 가까운 지역서점에서 대출하고 반납할 수 있는 시스템으로 도서신청 후 빠르게는 당일 아니면 2 ~ 3일 내 희망도서를 빌릴  수 있다는 점에서 기존 시스템에서 4주 이상 소요되던 시간을 크게 단축할 수 있다고 했다.

이 서비스 이용을 원하는 시민들은 지역서점에 직접 방문하거나 속초시립도서관 홈페이지를 통해 회원가입 후 서점과 도서를 선택해 신청하면 되고, 희망도서 신청가능권수는 1인 월 3권, 연 20권이며 1권당 2만원 이내로 이용 가능하다고 했다.

다만, 속초시립도서관 소장도서나 출간된 지 5년 이상 된 도서, 각종 수험서, 문제집, 학습만화, 시리즈물, 고가 도서, 무협지, 잡지 등은 신청에서 제외된다고 했다.

속초시도서체육센터소장은“이번 협약식을 계기로 정체되어 있는 지역서점 활성화에 좋은 기회가 될 것이다.”라며“앞으로도 지역서점과의 긴밀한 협업을 통해 편리한 독서환경조성, 지역서점 활성화  등 모두를 만족시킬 수 있는 서비스 구현에 노력을 다할 것”이라고 말했다. 

앞서 속초시립도서관에서는 2월부터 연간 1,000여권의 오디오북을 무제한으로 청취할 수 있는 스트리밍 라이선스를 구입하여 현재 홈페이지에서 서비스중이며, 희망도서 바로대출 서비스뿐만 아니라 코로나-19 펜데믹 극복을 위한 비대면 서비스의 외연 확장을 위해 힘쓰고 있다고 했다.
