[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 속초시가 학대 피해 아동에 대한 전문적·통합적인 의료지원 체계를 구축하기 위해 지난 2월 11일 속초의료원을 아동학대 전담 의료기관으로 지정하고 상호 협력을 위한 업무 협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

이번 협약을 통해 속초의료원은 앞으로 학대 피해 아동에 대한 신속한 조치뿐만 아니라 신체·정신적 진료와 상담, 학대 정황 의심 시 신고 등의 역할을 하여 피해 아동 보호에 적극 동참하게 된다고 했다. 

협약에 앞서 속초시는 속초의료원 내 공공의료본부, 소아청소년과 전문의, 원무팀이 참석한 실무자 간담회를 통해 피해아동 발생 시 우선 진료 및 타과 협진 절차 등을 사전 협의한 바 있다고 했다.

아동학대 전담 의료기관은 국·공립병원 및 민간의료기관 모두 참여할 수 있으며, 지정신청서 제출 후 결격사유를 확인하고 지정서를 전달하는 절차로 진행됨에 따라 향후 관내 병·의원을 대상으로 지정기관을 확대할 방침이라고 전했다.

속초시는“앞으로 속초의료원과 함께 지역사회 유관기관과의 긴밀한 소통·협조체계를 구축하여 지역 내 학대 피해 아동의 보호와 권익 보장을 위해 최선을 다하겠다.”라고 말했다.
