먼저 마을동동체 ‘원주나누리’는 2018년부터 어려운 어르신을 위해 무료 밥상 및 밑반찬 지원 등 활발한 봉사활동을 펼쳐 지역주민 간 공동체 의식 회복 및 어르신 삶의 질 향상에 크게 기여한 점이 인정돼 장관 표창을 받았다고 했다. 

이어 제9회 지방자치의 날을 맞아 원주시 주민자치협의회 원용대 사무총장(소초면 주민자치위원장)이 적극적인 주민자치 활동을 통해 지방자치 발전에 기여한 공로로 장관 표창을 받았다고 했다.

원주시 관계자는 “시민들의 꾸준한 봉사와 활발한 활동이 좋은 성과로 이어져 기쁘다.”며, “앞으로도 원주시의 주민자치가 더욱 성장하고 발전할 수 있도록 노력하겠다.”라고 말했다.
