[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 양주시는 경기상상캠퍼스에서 열린 2021 경기마을공동체 한마당에서 양주시 옥정동을 중심으로 활동 중인 아동돌봄공동체 ‘돌봄공동체 모락모락’이 우수마을상을 수상했다고 밝혔다.

‘도민과 마을을 이어 다같이 만들어가는 경기도’를 주제로 열린 2021 경기마을공동체 한마당은 경기도에서 마을공동체 활동사례 공유와 소통 계기 마련을 통해 정보교류, 네트워크 활성화를 목적으로 개최됐다고 했다.

이번 행사의 메인무대인 마을공동체 사례발표에는 시군별 우수사례 추천을 통해 참여한 도내 53개 공동체 중 1차 서면심사를 거쳐 확정된 최종 20개 공동체가 2차 현장심사에 참가했다고 밝혔다.

‘돌봄공동체 모락모락’은 공동육아, 방과 후 돌봄 프로그램 등 운영현황과 함께 돌봄 사각지대에 놓일 위기에 처한 아동들을 위해 인근 초등학교와 연계‧추진 중인 코로나19 시대 맞춤형 지원사업을 소개했고, 또한 지역 내 우수한 인재들의 재능기부로 진행하는 다채로운 돌봄 프로그램과 아버지 회원 발굴 성과 등 지역 내 돌봄문화 확산에 기여한 점을 중점적으로 다뤘다고 전했다.

특히 지난해부터 아파트 내 커뮤니티 시설을 중심으로 추진 중인 ‘경기도 아동돌봄공동체 지원사업’ 성과를 선보이며 지역 공동체 자원을 활용해 돌봄 사각지대를 해소하고, 마을이 함께 아이를 키우는 새로운 돌봄문화를 조성하는 등 주민 주도의 돌봄체계 구축에 선도적인 역할을 수행하고 있음을 홍보했다고 밝혔다.

양주시 관계자는 “주민이 모여 이룬 공동체를 기반으로 지역의 문제를 해결하는 마을공동체 활동이 지속적으로 확산된다면 신도시 개발 등으로 급격히 변화하고 있는 양주시의 공동체 정신 회복을 앞당길 수 있을 것”이라며 “이러한 마을공동체의 기능 활성화를 위해 행‧재정적 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.
