[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 11월 23일 포천시는 기후위기 대응 마련을 위한 민·관 간담회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

간담회는 박윤국 포천시장과 송상국 포천시의회 부의장, 기후위기 포천 비상행동 관계자 등이 참여해 포천시 기후위기 대응에 대한 열띤 의견을 나눴고, 이날 간담회에서 기후위기 포천 비상행동 오명실 공동대표는 ‘탄소중립, 포천은 어떤 준비를 해야 할까’라는 주제로 기후위기의 심각성을 강조하며 포천시 기후위기 대응방안을 제시했다고 전했다.

박윤국 포천시장은 “자연환경 훼손과 산업화에 따른 온실가스 배출 증가로 인류는 기후위기에 직면해 있다.”라며 “기후위기 극복과 탈탄소 사회 전환을 위해서는 민·관이 함께 인류적 사명을 인식하고 협력해야 한다. 2050 탄소중립 공동 목표달성에 포천시가 선제적으로 대응할 수 있도록 적극적인 협조와 참여를 부탁드린다.”라고 말했다.

지난 6월 5일 '제25회 세계 환경의 날'을 맞아 226개 기초지방자치단체가 참여하며 ‘기초지방정부 기후위기 비상선언’ 선포식을 갖은 바 있으며, 지방정부가 기후위기에 적극적 역할을 수행할 것을 다짐한 자리로 포천시도 동참해 앞으로 온실가스 감축과 적극적인 환경실천, 재생에너지 확대 등을 실행해 나갈 계획이라고 밝혔다.
