[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 27일 GH는 멸실위기에 처한 전승취약 국가무형문화재의 보전과 전승을 지원하기 위해 한국문화재재단과 기부약정을 체결하고 후원금을 전달했다고 밝혔다.

GH는 2018년부터 전승취약 국가무형문화재에 대한 후원사업을 지속하고 있다. 올해는 국가무형문화재 중 전승 취약종목인 매듭장과 두석장 보유자 정봉섭, 김혜순, 박문열을 선정하여 2년간 총 3천여 만원의 전승활동 지원금을 후원한다고 전했다.

국가무형문화제 제22호인 매듭장은 실을 맺고 조여 하나의 무늬를 만드는 공예 기술이다. 정봉섭 보유자는 초대 매듭장 보유자인 부모님으로부터 기술을 전수받았으며, 딸과 손녀까지 매듭을 가업으로 잇고 있다. 또 다른 매듭장 김혜순 보유자는 한국전통공예건축학교의 강사로 활동하고 한국매듭연구회의 회장을 역임하는 등 후학 양성에 힘쓰고 있다고 했다. 

국가무형문화제 제64호인 두석장은 목가구의 결합 부분과 자물쇠 등의 금속제 장식을 만드는 장인으로, 박문열 보유자는 경기도 소재의 ‘심경 장석 공방’을 운영하고 있다고 했다.

한편 GH는 2010년부터 문화재청과 ‘문화재 지킴이’ 협약을 체결해 협약기업으로 활동하고 있다. 무형문화재 후원활동과 더불어 지역문화재 정화활동과 아동 대상 문화유산 체험 프로그램을 운영하는 등 문화재를 활용한 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 전개하고 있다고 전했다.

이헌욱 GH 사장은 “국가 무형문화재에 대한 후원 이외에도 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 통해 공기업으로서 사회적 책임을 다할 예정이다.”라고 밝혔다.
