노후주택·공동이용시설 개보수 사업은 GH와 지방자치단체가 매년 협약을 맺어 경기도 원도심 내 사회취약계층의 거주·교육환경을 개선하는 사업이다. 2014년부터 2020년까지 GH는 20개 시·군을 대상으로 주택 488호 및 주민공동이용시설 55곳을 개보수 했다고 전했다.

올해 새로 체결된 협약에 따라 GH는 사업의 총괄 관리와 기부금 지급을 담당하고 5개 지자체는 지원가구, 시설 모집과 사회복지단체 선정 등 행정적 지원을 담당한다고 했다.

특히 올해부터는 아동 주거빈곤 가구, 한부모 가족, 조손 가족 등 사회 취약계층을 우선 지원하여 주거복지 사각지대를 완화할 계획이라고 했다.

GH 김준태 도시개발본부장은 “경기도 내 주거 취약계층의 주거복지 향상을 위해 원도심 내 거주환경을 지속적으로 개선해 나가겠다.”라고 밝혔다.
