[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 경기주택도시공사(GH)는 31일 우정사업본부와 ‘노후우체국 복합개발사업’ 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

이번 협약은 경기도 내 30년 이상 된 노후우체국을 철거한 뒤 저층(1~2층)에는 우체국을, 상층부에는 공공임대주택을 신축하는 복합개발사업을 위해 추진됐다.

협약 내용으로 서안양 및 의정부3동 우체국 2곳에 시범사업 추진과 기관 간 역할분담 및 후속 개발 후보지 발굴 등의 내용이 포함됐으며, 우정사업본부는 토지를 40년간 임대해주고, GH는 건축물 건립과 공공임대주택 공급, 운영 및 관리를 맡는다. 

복합개발사업으로 주택마련에 어려움을 겪는 경기도민은 교통편의성, 기반시설 등이 우수한 양질의 공공임대주택 공급으로 주거안정에 도움이 되고, 건물 노후화로 우체국 이용에 불편을 겪던 고객들은 쾌적한 서비스를 제공받을 것으로 기대된다. 

사업대상지인 서안양우체국은 안양역과 안양 IT밸리 등 다수의 산업시설과 안양대학교를 비롯한 4개 대학교가 인접해 있고, 의정부3동 우체국은 의정부역과 신세계백화점, 로데오거리 등 중심상권 형성되어 있다.

통합공공임대주택은 각 228호(서안양), 262호(의정부)가 공급되며, 2023년 하반기 착공해 2026년 상반기 입주 예정이다.

2021년 신규 도입된 통합공공임대주택은 영구ㆍ국민ㆍ행복주택 등 다양한 공공임대주택 유형을 하나로 통합해 복잡한 소득ㆍ자산기준 등이 단순화됐고, 소득 연계형 임대료 체계를 활용해 소득 수준에 따라 임대료가 책정되며 최장 30년 거주 가능하다. 

한편 GH는 지난 7월에도 경기도민의 주거문제 해결과 공공편의 향상을 위해 경기도 소유의 옛 안성병원 부지를 제공 받아 통합공공임대주택과 행정복지센터가 건립되는 복합개발사업을 착공한 바 있다. 

전형수 GH 부사장(사장 직무대행)은 “노후우체국 복합개발사업은 쾌적한 우정서비스 제공과 저렴한 임대주택 공급을 통해 주거복지에 기여할 수 있는 사업모델로 향후에도 상호 협력하여 신규 사업 발굴에 노력하겠다”라고 밝혔다.
