이번 점검은 본격 장마 대비 산림토목사업지에 대한 수방자재 비축 및 비상연락체계 구축 등 안전관리 상태와 사방시설에 대한 점검으로 여름철 풍수해를 대비하여 안전관리 강화하기 위해 실시했다고 전했다.

북부지방산림청은 이번 점검 이외에도 산사태취약지역과 이용객이 많은 다중이용시설인 청·관사, 산림복지시설, 산림사업장 등에 대해서는 상시적으로 점검하여 위험요소 발견 시 보수·보강 등 안전조치를 취하여 안전관리를 강화할 계획이라고 했다.

최수천 북부지방산림청장은 “우기 전 사방사업을 완료하고, 많은 국민들이 이용하는 다중이용시설 등에 대한 사전점검을 통해 자연재해로부터 국민의 생명과 재산을 보호하겠다.”라고 밝혔다.
