지장사 신도들의 모금을 통해 마련된 이번 장학금은 여성친화도시 서포터즈가 추천한 모범학생 5명에게 각 20만원씩 지원할 예정이라고 했다. 

대운 스님은 “작은 금액이지만 관내 학생들에게 도움을 줄 수 있어 기쁘다”며 “앞으로도 지역사회 발전과 주민복지를 위해 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 하겠다”고 말했다.

홍미영 동장은 “코로나19로 인해 어려운 상황임에도 불구하고 지역 학생들을 위해 소중한 장학금을 기탁해 주신 지장사에 진심으로 감사하다”며 “이번 장학금을 통해 학생들이 어려운 여건 속에서도 더욱더 힘을 얻고 성실히 자신의 꿈을 키워나가 든든한 사회의 일원이 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
