[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 22일, ㈜강원레미콘은 동면사무소에서 자매마을인 동면 덕곡2리에 발전기금과 장학금 등 총 740만 원을 전달했다고 밝혔다.

양구의 한 향토기업이 19년째 자매마을과 끈끈한 정을 나누고 있어 화제라고 전했다.

발전기금은 마을회 발전기금 150만 원과 노인회 발전기금 100만 원, 부녀회 발전기금 50만 원 등 총 300만 원이고, 장학금은 중학생 1명에 20만 원, 고등학생 4명에 각 30만 원씩 120만 원, 대학생은 5명에 각 60만 원씩 300만 원 등 총 440만 원이라고 했다.

지난 2004년 덕곡2리와 자매결연 관계를 맺은 강원레미콘은 매년 마을주민들의 자녀들에게 장학금, 마을회·노인회·부녀회에는 발전기금을 전달해오고 있으며, 또한 주민들의 경조사에도 함께해왔고, 지난 2015년에는 한 마을주민이 화재로 집을 잃은 후 다시 신축할 때 무상으로 기초공사를 해주기도 했다고 전했다.

지난 2009년에는 동면 원당리의 척추측만증으로 힘겨운 투병생활을 하고 있는 주민의 소식에 100만 원을 전달했고, 2010년에는 남편과 사별한 후 시부모와 자녀 3남매, 시조카 2명 등 대식구들을 돌보면서 각종 아르바이트로 생계를 이어가며 양구군 문화관광해설사로 활동하던 일본인 여성 결혼이민자에게 성금을 전달하기도 했다.

그리고 동면지역뿐만 아니라 ‘안나의 집’ 등 양구지역 곳곳의 각종 복지시설에 대한 위문활동도 활발하게 펼치고 있고, 사랑의 연탄과 다문화가정 지원금, 불우이웃돕기 성금 등을 기탁하며 소외된 이웃을 돕는 일에도 적극 나서고 있고, 이밖에 극심한 가뭄으로 농촌이 힘들 때마다 레미콘 차량에 물을 가득 싣고 농업용수를 공급해 농업인들의 시름을 덜어주기도 했다고 전핶다.

강원레미콘 손창남 대표는 “앞으로도 이웃들에게 일어나는 크고 작은 일들에 귀를 기울이고, 도울 수 있는 일이 있으면 적극적으로 돕겠다.”고 말했다.
