점검은 재학대가 우려되거나 반복 신고, 수사경력, 사례관리·가정방문을 거부한 가정의 아동 등을 대상으로 실시된다고 전했다.

동해시는 가정방문·직접 대면을 원칙으로 아동학대예방경찰관(APO), 아동보호전문기관과 함께 아동의 신체ㆍ심리상태ㆍ주거환경 등을 확인하고 가족과 주변인 조사를 통해 재학대 및 이상 유무를 종합적으로 점검하게 된다고 전했다.

점검 과정에서 재학대 위험이 발견되거나 아동의 보호가 필요한 경우 현장에서 즉각 분리 또는 수사 연계 등 적극적인 조치를 실시하고, 유관기관과 연계해 아동의 안전을 보장할 계획이라고 했다. 

임정규 가족교육과장은 “고 위험군 아동가정의 점검을 통해 학대 피해를 조기 발견하고 이에 대한 선제적인 개입으로 재학대를 예방할 수 있도록 하겠다”며, “유관기관과의 지속적인 협력을 바탕으로 대응 체계를 구축해 위기에 놓인 아동 보호에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
