현재의 지적공부는 지난 1910년대 일제강점기에 만들어진 종이도면으로, 제도상 한계, 축척·도곽 간의 이격 및 중첩된 종이도면을 전산화하는 과정에서 발생한 필지 간 오류 등 많은 문제점이 발견됨에 따라 정비사업을 추진하게 되었다고 전했다. 

이에, 시는 오는 2024년까지 3억여 원을 들여 시 전체 전산도면의 정비를 지적측량 전문기관인 한국국토정보공사에 위탁 협약을 체결하여 추진할 계획이라고 했다.
