[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 강릉시는 주민생활환경 개선 및 하천, 해안 수역의 수질을 개선하고 악취 방지를 위해 하수관로 정비사업을 본격 추진한다고 전했다.

지난 3월부터 오는 2025년 9월까지 4개년간 연차사업으로 연곡면 영진리, 방내리, 동덕1리 일원에 194억 원을 투입해 오수관로와 가정하수연결공사를 시행한다고 했다.

인근 사천공공하수처리시설은 지난해 10월 완공하여 운영 중이며, 사천면 일원 오수관로 및 가정하수연결공사를 오는 2024년 5월까지 완료할 계획이라고 했다.

내년 11월까지는 옥계면 현내2, 3리 지역에 88억 원을 투입해 오수관로와 가정하수연결공사를 추가로 추진할 계획이며, 이외 지역도 환경부와 협의를 지속해 점진적으로 하수처리구역을 확대해 나갈 방침이라고 했다.

강릉시 관계자는 “사천면 일원의 하수도 정비사업은 지역 주민의 이해와 협조로 순조롭게 진행되고 있으며, 추가로 진행되는 연곡면, 옥계면 공사도 주민분들의 이해와 협조를 부탁드린다.” 며 “하수관로 공사가 완료되면 기존 정화조는 모두 폐쇄되고, 오수는 오수전용관을 통해 배출되어 쾌적한 생활환경 조성에 기여할 것이다.” 고 밝혔다.
