[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 경기도는 경기북부 산업 경쟁력 강화를 위한 거점 단지로서 자리매김할 ‘경기양주 테크노밸리 조성사업’에 대해 27일자로 산업단지계획 승인 고시했다고 밝혔다.

경기양주 테크노밸리는 양주시 남방동, 마전동 일원 21만8,105㎡ 부지에 1,104억 원을 투입해 경기도, 양주시, 경기주택도시공사가 공동으로 시행하는 도시첨단산업단지이며, 경기북부 4차 산업 중심지로서의 역할과 첨단제조기반 플랫폼 등 신성장 인프라 구축을 위해 조성된다고 전했다. 

그간 공동사업시행자는 공동사업시행 협약체결(2019년 2월), 조사설계 용역 착수 및 중앙투자심사 통과(2019년 10월), 개발제한구역 해제 결정 고시(2021년 7월) 등 사전 행정절차를 이행했으며, 산업단지계획이 승인됨에 따라 내년부터 보상 및 공사에 착수해 2024년까지 단지조성을 완료할 계획이라고 했ㄷ다.

경기양주 테크노밸리는 전체면적 21만8,105㎡의 47%(10만2,885㎡)를 산업시설용지로 계획했고 산업시설용지의 31%(3만2,085㎡)를 연구개발(R&D)부지로 계획했으며, 이를 통해 기존의 도시형산업, 뿌리산업, 기계산업 등에 서비스 융합과 데이터 기반 혁신으로 전통제조업의 구조고도화를 도모하고, 디자인·IT 융합을 통한 스마트생활소비재산업 육성을 목표로 하고 있다고 했다.
