[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 12월 23일 평창문해교육협회는 평창군청을 방문하여 (재)평창장학회에 장학금 50만 원을 기탁하였다고 밝혔다.

이번 장학금 기탁은 2021년 활동한 문해교사 17명이 지역 학생들 누구나 배움의 기회를 가질 수 있기를 바라는 마음으로 뜻을 모은 것으로 알려져 그 의미를 더했다고 전했다.

이영희 회장은 “우리 문해교육사들은 가정형편 등으로 교육을 받지 못했던 분들을 위해 문해 교실을 운영하며, 학생들이 성장해 나가는 모습을 볼 때 가장 큰 보람을 느낀다.”며, “혹시나 어려운 가정환경으로 꿈을 펼치지 못하는 학생들이 있다면 그 학생들을 응원하고 싶어 기부를 하게 되었다.”고 밝혔다.

이에 평창장학회 관계자는 “문해교육사분들의 배움에 대한 열정과 소망이 우리 지역 인재들에게 전해지기를 바란다.”며 감사인사를 전했다.

한편 평창문해교육협회 소속 교육사들은 2013년부터 비문해·저학력 성인을 대상으로 문해 교실을 운영하고 있으며, 한글을 읽고 쓰는 기초 교양부터 휴대전화 사용을 비롯한 일상생활에 필요한 생활 문해까지 다양한 교육을 통해 군민의 삶을 증진시키는데 앞장서고 있다고 했다.
