[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 11일 동해시가족센터는 동해시 거주 결혼이주여성 30여명이 참여한 가운데 한국문화이해 프로그램 ‘이웃과 함께 만드는 김장김치’ 프로그램을 동해시 농업기술센터에서 진행했다고 밝혔다.

‘김치 만들기 체험’ 활동은 동해시가족센터 결혼이주여성 자조모임(베트남,중국,필리핀,러시아등) 회원들 주축으로 지역주민과 함께 한국 고유의 저장식품인 김장김치를 담그는 과정을 통해 한국의 문화와 생활방식을 체험하면서 서로의 다른 문화를 이해하고 지역주민들의 다문화 감수성을 향상시키기 위해 추진됐다고 했다.

또, 이번 ‘김치 만들기 체험’에는 동해 누가이비인후과, 기독교 대한 감리회 동해 삼척 지방 여선교회가 후원하고 직접 프로그램에 참여하며 결혼이주여성들과 함께 소통의 시간을 가졌다고 했다.

자조모임 회원인 필리핀 출신 퀸니씨는 “평소에 김치를 좋아했지만 직접 담그는 건 엄두도 못 냈는데 김치 만들기 체험을 하면서 자신감이 생겨 할 수 있을 것 같다”라고 말했다.

우미강 센터장 “후원해주신 모든 분들께 진심으로 감사드리며 결혼이주여성들이 지역주민들과 소통 할 수 있는 다양한 프로그램 개발에 지속적으로 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
