의정부시 종합관광안내소와 퓨전문화관광홍보관은 코로나19 관련 수도권의 감염병 확산 방지를 위해 지난해 11월 24일부터 운영을 잠정 중단하고 시설 정비에 나섰다고 했다.

의정부역 앞 종합관광안내소는 지난 6월 외부 방수 및 도색공사를 마쳤고, 부대찌개골목 건너편에 위치한 퓨전문화관광홍보관(이하 홍보관)은 지난 3월 2021년 경기도 구석구석 관광테마골목 육성  공모사업에 선정되어 9월 시설 내부 특별전시실(34㎡)에 부대찌개골목 VR 체험관 조성을 마쳤다고 했다.

특히 홍보관 내 부대찌개골목 VR 체험관은 부대찌개 골목상권 활성화를 통해 시 관광경쟁력을 확보하기 위한 노력의 일환으로, 골목과 상인들의 이야기를 담은 전시 공간과 다양한 연령층이 VR 체험을 할 수 있는 공간으로 구성했다고 했다.
